This is a checklist of 159 bird species found in the Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary. It is situated in Yamunanagar District of Haryana, Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 100 sq km in the lower reaches of Shivalik range. It is recognized as an excellent birding area. Sal and khair trees dominate the forest but there are also shisam, tun, sain and amla trees. The sanctuary protects birds like pallid harrier, Indian bushlark, crested lark, cattle egret, common moorhen, Indian pitta, Indian nightjar, jungle prinia and ashy wood-swallow.
