Qualifications:
Essential - Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology/Life Science/Forestry/Environmental Science/ with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
Desirable - 1. Field research experience in the Himalayan region; experience in the field of wildlife survey; Use of GIS and data analysis software. 2. Candidates with strong physical and mental abilities and a keen desire to carryout arduous field work in the remote and rugged high altitudes of the Trans Himalaya under extreme cold or rainy conditions with minimal logistic support may apply.
Description of Work:
The project aims to collect ecological data on Himalayan Wolf across the Indian Trans Himalayan region. This project involves extensive field work in the remote, rugged, high altitude regions of J&K, Himachal, Uttarakhand and Sikkim.
Remuneration:
Selected candidate for the position of Junior Research Fellow will be paid a consolidated emoluments of Rs. 12,000/- per month. In case of NET qualified candidates (UGC/CSIR) for Research Fellows, the selected JRF will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 16,000/- per month and in case of NET qualified (UGC/CSIR) candidates with Professional P.G. Degree, he/she will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 18,000/- per month as fellowship.
Selection:
Based on Walk-in-Interview to be held on Monday, 19th March 2012 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. The registration will begin by 09:00 A.M. onwards. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, extra curricular activities, date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations. All original documents should be produced at the time of registration.
