Qualifications:
Essential - Masters degree in Zoology/Wildlife Science/Animal Science/Environment Science/Life Science with minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
Desirable - Candidates with an aptitude for doing field work, data collection and analysis, specialization in reproductive physiology and endocrinology and knowledge of computer applications will be preferred.
Description of Work:
The project aims to develop capture techniques for selectively capturing male and female Rhesus monkeys and translocation procedure, surgical procedure for carrying out vasectomy in male monkeys, and to treat female monkeys with vaccines (Recombinant Protein) or other antifertility agents to control their fertility, and to study the intraspecific behaviour, breeding activity and population dynamics of treated monkeys in and around the campus.
Remuneration:
Selected candidate for the position of Junior Research Fellow will be paid a consolidated emoluments of Rs. 12,000/- per month. In case of NET qualified candidates (UGC/CSIR) for Research Fellows, the selected JRF will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 16,000/- per month and in case of NET qualified (UGC/CSIR) candidates with Professional P.G. Degree, he/she will be paid consolidated emoluments of Rs. 18,000/- per month as fellowship.
Selection:
Based on Walk-in-Interview to be held on Monday, 19th March 2012 at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun. The registration will begin by 09:00 A.M. onwards. Candidates should bring the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, extra curricular activities, date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations. All original documents should be produced at the time of registration.
