We provide the latest and final update of Snakes of India for the year 2014. Major changes done in Colubridae, Natricidae, Typhlophiae, Erycidae (new Family which replaces Boidae). Typhlopidae family has been revised two times in recent months and now appears to be more stable for years. These studies exclude famous genus Ramphotyphlops and Typhlops from India and provided one new genus Indotyphlops for thin Blind Snakes and Argyrophis for remaining species usually having high dorsal rows. Homalopsidae family is also revised with 9 separate genus assigned to each species documented from India. Genus Hypsiscopus is new for India. A big part of taxonomists not accepting changes in Boidae Family and suggesting to keep Indian Boas under old Boidae instead of Erycidae. However we follow sensible publications so preferring new Family over the old one. Very recently Natricidae family's genus Amphiesma also revised and 2 old genus are assigned to multiple species while Keelback's largest genus Amphiesma is now consisting only one species, making this genus to be monotypic. Old World Ratsnakes (Trinkets) are known for overlapping morphological characters and multiple genera. In recent years some of them are revised again and again by changing genus. But very recently genus Gonyosoma is assigned to this species and putting others as synonym.
