Welcome to  "Beetles of India". It is thought that Beetles are among the largest and the most diverse forms of life on earth and account for 25% of all known animal life with more than four lakh species recorded to date. It is believed that including the unidentified species that remain to be identified, there may be more than one million species of beetles.
Through this group we hope to crowd-source observations from citizen to identify and map the diversity of beetle species occurring across India. We hope to also put out species pages for each described species found in India.
We invite the participation of both experts and amateurs alike to collect observations, descriptive information, lists, documents and maps on beetles.
