Indian Snakes is a group dedicated to collecting, displaying and sharing snake-related information, particularly in India. Started in 2011 by a group of wildlife enthusiasts, the group has grown to be the most popular one on Indian snakes. This group has brought together amateur snake-enthusiasts, scientists, snake-rescuers and other experts, who

(1) report sightings and snake-bite cases, including location and other details; and

(2) share snake-rescue experiences, photographs and videos.

This voluntary system of information sharing has helped the group build a comprehensive database on snakes and their distribution across the country. The group provides detailed information on almost all reported snakes in the country, including their identification features, characteristics, habitats, geographical distribution, nature of venom, etc.
