Is it possible to create a new layer for mammal sightings in BRT? Would like to mark tree shrew sightings in BRT for which locations are available with me.

I think just an India layer would do, and we can mark these protected area-wise. Perhaps, we can think of sightings within PA's later, but for more people to get involved, locations within PAs may be good.
If we create an India level layer of mammal sightings, would that help, or if you have many locations of tree shrew in BRT we can dedicate a layer in BRT to it. Please suggest.
We still do not have a method to create new layers by any user. These are features we need to add, one-by-one.
Currently we have to create a layer, make it participatory and and then users will be able to add features and comments.
We also want to be careful in limiting and managing the number of layers to some reasonable numbers so that we can oversee and manage the layers. And once the community starts to build up and platform has more capabilities, we will truly be a wiki modeled site.
