National Moth Week 2016 will be held between 23rd and 31 July. Join the IndianMoths group and participate by organizing events, uploading and identifying moth observations.

Shivaji University cordially invites participants for the 33rd Conference of Indian Botanical Society and International Symposium during 10th-12th November, 2010. The beginning of 21st century has given revolutionary impetus to all disciplines of Science. Botany is not an exception to this trend. The plant sciences are really at the crossroads at this particular juncture. The molecular biology and biotechnology are dominating the minds of upcoming generations of young botanists on one hand. On the other hand there is growing awareness about significance of understanding the biodiversity of this planet in toto. The studies in classical avenues in Botany such as cytogenetics, anatomy, embryology, physiology and pathology have thrown light on the complexity of plant forms, functions and responses and the challenges facing the research on the plant systems. The different environmental constrains are adding a very important dimension to this picture. The direct involvement of botany in human welfare and cultural activities from prehistoric times needs to address in current changing science. On this background it is felt worthwhile to discuss new horizons of Botany by bringing together leading Botanists from different parts of world. Since the symposium will be of immense importance to teachers, students and researchers of Botany, it is sincerely hoped that the organizers will receive warm encouraging response in the form of active participation of all those interested in the bright future of subject.
