Short bodied Caecilian with violet dorsal and lighter ventral surface.
Medium-sized caecilian with a total length of 145–240 mm. Primary and secondary folds in approximately equal number 206–247. Tail short with 7 folds. Tentacle below and a little in front of nostril. Collars are not clearly delineated. First nuchal groove dim, visible above but faint below. Second groove faint above and absent below. Third groove evident above only.
Shade of brick red or violet above and lighter below. Dorsal colour is interrupted by whitish lines on folds.
Fossorial species feeds on termites, insects and earthworms
Under leaf litter.
Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
