About Me
I am a passionate naturalist, a wildlife photographer & currently fully devoted to the building of efloraofindia. In the past I have been trekking a lot in last 20 years. I am creating awareness about our Trees & Plants, winged friends (Birds), Butterflies, etc. in particular & nature around us in general. I have also authored 'A Photoguide to the birds of Kolkata & Common birds of India'. I also had held a few Exhibitions mainly focusing on Bird Photography. I am also the winner of Wipro-NFS Sparrow Award for 2014 mainly for efloraofindia. I am the owner of Efloraofindia - a google group. Efloraofindia (earlier Indiantreepix) is the largest Google e-group in the world in this field & largest nature related (and the most constructive with more than 2700 members & 2,40,000 messages on 31/3/16) in India devoted to creating awareness, helping in identification etc. along with discussion & documentation of Indian Flora. I am the owner of (and also compiling) Efloraofindia website for documenting flora of India that is being discussed on Efloraofindia google e-group along with supplementing the working of the group. More than 11,000 species' pages of seed plants, ferns, fungi & others are available with details for those species which have already been discussed in effloraofindia e-group. It has the largest database on net on Indian Flora. I have uploaded around eight thousand of his best images of Birds, Buttterflies, Plants etc. (more than a thousand species & eight thousand pictures), which can be seen at Wikimedia Commons (arranged alphabetically & place wise). One can also use them for free as per Creative Commons license attached with each image.
