      Perennial, scapigerous herb. Leaves radical, rosulate, runcinate-pinnatifid, to 12 x 2 cm, chartaceous, subsessile. Stems scapiform, (un)branched, to 25 cm. Capitulum solitary, homogamous, yellow, to 16 x 6 mm. Involucre 2-3-seriate. Phyllaries lanceolate, outer ones 3 mm, inner ones to 16 mm. Receptacle flat, 3 mm wide; paleae narrow, hyaline. Florets all ligulate, yellow. Pappus in 1 series. Corolla 5-toothed, to 8 mm long. Stamens 5; anther-base sagittate, acuminate. Style arms obtuse. Achenes oblong-linear, 10-ribbed, 4 mm, of 2 kinds; Outer truncate, not beaked; inner fusiform, long-beaked.
